Its about time organizations, government, police forces, and community authorities start to employ some of the genius ideas and strategies used in Hollywood films! I may sound crazy, but I KNOW I’m not the only person on the planet who has watched a movie and said, “hey, that might actually work IRL (in real life).” Seriously, how many of you watched “Armageddon” and considered that were the earth ever attacked by a large US-sized meteor that potentially signified the total end of mankind and the eternal abyss of our universe, its possible that good ol’ Billy Bob Thorton, Bruce Willis, and Ben Affleck might be on to something? As far as I’m concerned, drilling a hole into the center of the giant mass of destruction and blowing it up from the inside out is brilliant, and should absolutely be NASA’s first move should we ever be faced with this action packed end of days. Nevertheless, i diverge. Coming back to the point of this post, I just read a story on the New York Times that was somewhat reminiscent of Queen Latifa’s “Beauty Shop.” This story, which i shall tag here, and which I assume you will respectfully NOT click on until you have read the remainder of my post, is about a new program training hair dressers how to recognize signs of domestic abuse. Turns out, officials are realizing that women in abusive situations are often too scared to come forward, but feel most comfortable in a Salon with their hairdresser, where they often share stories. So, as a result, they’re training stylists on how to help and advise women to get help at the appropriate places. Finally someone learned something from watching movies where everyday people usually turn out being heroes. Like the Zohan. Duh. Anyhow, you are now free to read the article which is a little long, but definitely something interesting that you don’t read about everyday.
peace and silky-smoothness.
