Sunday wraps up the exhibit Art of Can presented by Red Bull. Artists were challenged with the unique single parameter of using Red Bull cans for their submissions to the collection. Forty-seven original pieces have been on display this month from nationwide artists, both professional and amateur. During the kick-off gala a panel of judges chose three winners for the Miami Beach exhibition. First place was awarded to a Floridian! Noah Deledda from Tampa will be going, all expenses paid, to Art Basel in Switzerland for his creation dubbed “One Can Wonderâ€Â. While others worked with hundreds of cans Noah used a unique technique carefully crushing one can and molding it into a pattern of artistic simplicity.  And competing against submissions from names like Hermes is no easy feat!
Art of Can is being held in a not-to-be-missed glass structure on SoBe along Ocean and 9th St. If you’re reading this and it’s between 12pm-11pm on Sunday, March 14th then what are you waiting for? Go. Stop reading immediately (come back to finish later, of course)! If you missed it then make sure to visit the exhibit page  and browse the artwork. Take a gander at all the intricate work that goes into converting Red Bull cans, including Sugar-free and Cola versions, into impressive masterpieces.
For all of you artists out there get those creative juices flowing for your submission to the next exhibit being held in Dallas on July 30th. But get a move on; you have until May 10th to submit your entry. Keep in mind you may need a lot of “practice cansâ€Â. Or your creative genius may be bigger than life and plotting a show-stopper requiring a plethora of cans. This may warrant a drink-a-thon with friends. Another option could be setting up a table at your local university urging students to stay alert for exams. You provide the energy boost aka Red Bull and they return the can. Look at that you’re a philanthropist, artist and going green all at once!
