The homey DaVincci, along with the rest of the Miami Beat Wave army drop a new video. This camp just doesn’t know how to disappoint. Production by Miami Beat Wave, verses by Shottie, Omniscient, AG Lyonz and Salazar which drops some of that hispanic flavor. Shottie is on that first verse, so it’s only right we go ahead and push his new project, Delorean, that just dropped a few days ago. Props to Jose Mertz for the dope album art. MIAMI STAND UP!!! April 10th seems like it might never get here, damnit! Como Se Llama? is Llamabeats’ debut album and we have to wait a whole two weeks for it to drop. But… till then, we can go ahead and play this tune on repeat (as if you haven’t already heard it 15 times today). Also… Check out what a “typical night with the Llamas is like” HAHAHA Read More →
Nothing much to say about one who calls himself The Master. Rakim has been labeled by most likely everyone and their neighbor, as the dopest MC to ever play the game. That’s right kiddies… Not Jay… not Nas… not even Weezy (even if dumb ass Nicki Minaj did call him the greatest rapper alive). Rakim is the one all these rappers look up to and is still alive to prove it, Nicki. We all danced around and wrote on walls to all his classics Eric B and Rakim would release. Last... Read More →
Another history lesson is in session ladies and gentlemen, by none other than DJ Guilletine himself. Every now and again, Guilletine likes to keep you guys on your toes and bring you the tunes that actually inspired your favorite songs to be be born. The tunes that the someone listened to, learned and re-produced… Which then became one of your all time favorite songs. Now, I personally enjoy the sampling more than anything when we talk about making music. I like playing a little game called... Read More →
I saw MC Seven Star perform for the first (and definitely not last) time, back in ’04. He shared a stage with some homeys of mine, Soul What. After the performance, I needed to go up to this dude and buy his album. That album was My Mother and Father Were Astronauts. Thanks to that day and Seven Star, I grew such strong love for the local Hiphop scene. Till this day, I still own the actual album and I’ve purchased all his other albums since then. He’s worked with tons of really... Read More →
The second video by PFM & Iron Ora. A song called “SPACE”, off the album: Pomegranate Sunset which we shared with you on the day of release last week and hopefully you weren’t foolish enough to skip over this gem. Check out the visuals by Jose Del Rio of Hungry Ants Productions. Definitely a video that will turn some heads. Read More →
In 1996 I was 14 years old. This is when I started piecing together the fact that I could save the lunch money I got throughout the week, jump on some dirty ass public bus over the weekend, head to the nearest SPECS and buy a few CD’s. Two things happened at this time: I started a collection of music that I would totally kill anyone over. (If anyone knows me personally, you know the amount of music I have.) I started spending all my lunch money which led to this phenomenal physique that... Read More →
Just about two weeks ago, a buddy of mine hit me up and asked if I’d been updated on PFM & Iron Ora’s upcoming album. I’ll be honest… I had heard of these dudes, I was aware of the upcoming album because of the PR hitting up my Facebook and Twitter feed constantly, but I hadn’t heard any of their projects or releases. But, the person pointing me in their direction is someone like me when it comes to music and a huge supporter of locals, so I gave this album a shot.... Read More →
A little more then a year ago, some you might remember we shared and re-shared this great video that I took, mainly because I had just gotten my Nikon suited with my awesome 50mm lens. The video was a huge cypher outside of S-Bar, after one of the Vice City Cypher events. I took my camera out and MC’s did what they do best… Show off! And what a hell of a cypher it was. EDIT: Recently, one of our photographers, Harold, was at The Vagabond for Shake’s 3 Year Birthday celebration in... Read More →
