26 JanBusinesses come and go, but when it comes to Inked Productions, this graphic assembly is not only here to stay but also poised to spread out globally beyond the 305. Inked Pro’s owner and Peruvian native, Rudy has been residing in the 305 since he was a youngster. As soon as graffiti was introduced in his life, he began to adorn the streets with his newfound and profound talent. After a few less-than-opportune encounters on the streets of the 305, he was sent away to South America where he... Read More →

4 NovSome folks are giving Hip Hop a bad rep (We all know who they are.) and some are mixing it up while still delivering the vocals, rhymes, and beats we all crave. Dashius Clay, a local MC is in the game to do the latter. Armed with big dreams, big plans and big bravado, Dashius Clay is spreading his eclectic sounds around South Florida. A true lover of music, this MC does not discriminate when it comes to musical genres. You might not have heard of him yet, but he is on a mission to be heard... Read More →

22 SepI decided to strip down and uncover one of the 305′s hidden musical talents and there is no better place than the ‘Steez to reveal The Nude Cap and its five gifted members. I got to see the raw talent behind their sound…and I have to admit that I sure as hell liked what I saw. Instead of harassing them with question after question, I decided to invade one of their rehearsals. As I waited for them to set up, I kept myself distracted with cold beer and a perusal of their space decorated... Read More →
Nearly 28 years ago, New York gave us a great gift. A grand talent. Patrick DeezAbreu (DeAbreu), an artist who is anything but ordinary. Patrick has given the 305 a wide range of colors and abstract creations for the past three years. Whether working alone or collaborating with other artists, he knows exactly how to catch your attention with his one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Interviewing Patrick was pretty remarkable. He gave us a glimpse of his extraordinary life, not only as an artist, but as a regular... Read More →

2 AugYou won’t find BredCrumbs on your kitchen table, couch, or bed. You will find these crumbs here at the ‘Steez, leading you to get lost in their world of genius musical blends. This 305 collaboration fuses genres from old school hip hp, R&B, pop, alternative rock, funk, blues and conscious rap. Everyone with ears and good taste in music should fall under the spell of their sounds. ( I did.) Whether it’s at Transit, Jazid, or Tobacco Road, BredCrumbs is out to change, transform,... When I think of the word “jawbreaker” I can’t help but visualize an unbreakable, multi-colored, sweet-yet-risky treat. It’s delightful for the senses and it lasts. Boy does it last. Like good art, a jawbreaker can seem to last forever. This is exactly what fellow 305′ers, Jon Clazo, Manny Simple, and Jovany Pino, believe. Which is why they collabo’ed on Jawbreaker Gallery; A place where creative minds come together to deliver art in different shapes, sounds, colors... Read More →
Memorial weekend came and went here in South Florida and quite a lot went on, musically that is. While we gave you a serious dose of 411 about MURS and K-OS who both slayed shows this weekend, we think we should send Mishka love, who played this Sunday at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale. And just so you know, Sundays were made for Mishka’s brand of soulful reggae. No clue who Mishka is? Let me give you the scoop of this mind-blowing artist. Mishka is all about reggae, folk and... There’s nothing like coming across a great artist in the 305. Someone whose art can put you in a trance and make you lose concept of time and space. An artist like Jose Mertz, who I was lucky enough to be introduced to by Goobs. (aka Momma Antisteez.) Mertz’s use of color and shapes will enthrall you and his out-of-this-world creativity will dazzle you. His art will draw you in and you won’t want to snap out of it. I feel so lucky (And now you can, too!) to have borne... Read More →
The Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade was a huge success. Everywhere you turned you could see the excitement, the freedom, the peace, and mostly the pride. From young to old, from gay to straight and everything in between, there was not a single person that didn’t enjoy themselves. You could even see people’s pets having fun. The music was pumping. You couldn’t stand still. People danced, sang, ate, drank, played and just showed the love. The performances were overpowering. The crowd... Read More →
