When the ability to reign in real emotions and steer them at your will is achieved, you have mastered the character. To read beyond the lines of the script and breathe life into its meanings and intentions, only then is a story successfully told. When raw, unbridled emotion oozes through your extremities and captivates an entire room, you know you have found success as an actor. The students and fellow actors at the Panaro Academy of Dramatic Arts in South Beach understand this because these lessons... Read More →

Sure, Art Basel brought the best artist in the world to the fine streets of our 305, but it also brought out the worst scumbags, too. (And no, we don’t mean the FauxSters, part hipster/part fake art elitists, either.) It seems that this year’s Basel brought in a wave of really crappy graffiti vandals who took it upon themselves to ruin murals all over Wynwood and even attack those happy, pink snails around the city. WHO ATTACKS SNAILS, MAN!? While the vandals defaced a lot of artwork... Read More →
I usually steer clear of the Art Basel and all of the hoopla and shenanigans it brings with it Hoopla and shenanigans have their place in my life, but I don’t like life to tell me WHEN or WHERE I must partake in hoopla and shenanigans, I usually create my own ruckus with people that I love at places that I know, not some cavernous convention space or some hollowed out warehouse all dolled up to look like a cavernous convention space. But every so often, after 2 or 3 years of being a jaded... Read More →
