Putting Miami on the map fo’ really is a pair of producers/engineers that go by the name of Miami Beat Wave. Their camp is not only full of great artists but also very good friends of ours. Not long ago, Brandan, one of the MBWers, sat with Guilletine and both decided to get a ton of their heaviest tunes and make a mix to staple their name in the Antisteez Podcast list. Of course I don’t have to mention that Guilletine goes in as fuck on this (#pause).

Footwork 4 Self is a label based out of West Palm Beach, FL with some heavy hitting artists such as Jabrjaw, Dj Dee Dubbs, Protoman, Mr.Chief, LoX Tha Rippa and Shawn Wayne. If you’ve been listening, you might have encountered a few of their tracks or mentions around the Steez. The other night we hit up Ft. Lauderdale to catch an event at Green Room for Protomans newest CD release. At this show, Guilletine was asked by Footwork (FW4S) if he can mix an hour long mix of just FW4S tunes. He did. It was a success and we decided to go ahead and make that same mix this weeks podcast since so many people dug it at the event.

With a newly released album, Torae hits the podcast this week showing off his slick wordplay and serious featurings and beat picks. Firsts heard about Torae on a Skyzoo joint back in ’07 and since then I’ve been following his career and reading up on his history a bit, which is actually pretty interesting. Since the Skyzoo joint, Torae has hooked up with producer Marco Polo and got signed to Duck Down together as the group name Double Barrel.

Guilletine rips this mix apart (as always) as he shows all of us his favorite Torae joints.

Gang Starr is the reason the thought of Antisteez came about… there… I said it. C’mon now! It’s a bit obvious. Anti’STEEZ’. “There’s always a message involved”. Guru and Preemo are Gods. (I just added that fact in there because it’s just that… A FACT!) A Guru podcast was made the day of his death.
