Born in Manhattan, raised everywhere, Candace Meyer prides herself in the uniqueness of her entity. Raised by Broadway star Wanda Richert, coupled with her father’s influence in videography and production, she really didn’t know any life other than that of an artist’s. At age 14, she dove into hip hop and started writing rhymes paired with soulful melodies. By the time that 2006 Ultra Music Festival rolled around, she realized that there was more to her music than heavy, dark booms... Read More →
Steven A. Clark is a man of little words. He was born in Arkansas and raised in North Carolina but is now a proud member of the 305′s musical community. Sure, February may be about cupid’s arrow with the hearts and chocolates following us around for weeks now… but this singer and songwriter isn’t about that sugar-coated profession of love. His smiles are furtive. His emotions guarded. Listen closely to his lyrics, pay close attention to his performances and you may just discover... Read More →
Friends of the Library is an awesome non-profit organization aimed at advocating, fundraising and organizing special events for the libraries in our community, and next month they will be holding their annual book sale. What does that mean…? Well, I’m glad you asked because I was just about to tell you: They need volunteers. Anyone able-bodied, willing and over the ripe-old-age of 18 is encouraged to take part in this event benefiting our ambassadors of knowledge – the Miami-Dade... Read More →
Every year the public libraries face more and more budget cuts. Which means for readers like us, fewer new books are purchased, important programs to keep our kids reading are cut and advocacy programs for adult literacy receive less funding. The library system needs all the help they can get and none more-so than our very own. With so much strife and turmoil taking place within Miami-Dade county government it’s almost impossible for anyone to find the time to give a damn about our libraries... Read More →
Books & Books, our fave local indie bookstore is known for it’s amazing author events. Over the years they have managed to bring in some pretty serious heavy hitters from Isabel Allende, Kurt Vonnegut, John Irving, Tomie DePaola, Lemony Snicket, Judy Blume, Augusten Burroughs, Annie Leibovitz, President Bill Clinton, Anthony Bourdain, Jamie Oliver and Chelsea Handler…just to name a few. Most recently they hosted Elizabeth Berkley, yes, Jessie Spano herself. I'm so excited!!... Read More →
We have a gameplay trailer from the sequel of Dead Space. This game is supposed to be a sci-fi horror survival game. I know nothing about this game honestly because I’ve never played the original. I do know that a lot of people are fans of this game so I decided to post it for the Steez heads out there that might be fans of this franchise. Enjoy! I had posted awhile back about this game. Why am I reposting about it again? It just so happens they decided to add two more characters to the game in the trailer. One character is Dante from Devil May Cry on the Capcom side and the other one is Deadpool (which happens to be one of my favorite characters in the Marvel and not the shitty Deadpool portrayed on X-Men Origins: Wolverine) on the Marvel side. I know people out there are still stuck on Marvel VS Capcom 2, so this will break a full smile... Read More →
One of my favorite games in the whole wide world Fallout 3 is coming out with the next installment of the series. I heard word about it and I saw this cock teaser trailer that showed…not much. Then a few weeks later I started seeing screenshots on a magazine that was pointed out to me by the staff of Gamestop when they heard me talking about how badass Fallout 3 is. For those of you who don’t know jack about Fallout 3, it’s a single player open world game where you choose to be... Read More →
As we all know, Google has gone from web search engine gods to gods of browser based, app base, and just-about-everything-in-the-internet based. In this article, it’s been announced that Google will be targeting the gaming side of things by distributing games through a web based app store. The article was pretty exciting to read as a gamer and as a fan of Google. Although I don’t have any more information as what’s posted below, I have to admit that my anticipation for this is pretty... Read More →
