Your last birthday party consisted of some dinner, a couple of rum and cokes and maybe something sweet with a candle in it. Six years ago FestiDAN was born as a birthday party featuring a huge Slip ‘N Slide in an abandoned lot in front of birthday boy Dan’s house. When construction threatened the party place an alternative idea was needed. Since then the event has evolved from a birthday celebration into an all out extravaganza to benefit charity.
For the 2010 edition of FestiDan the party will be block wide in Coconut Grove. Party goers will take over the street in from in front of The Grove Spot on Virginia St. between Oak and Florida Ave. The block party will include live music by many local favorites:
Make sure to get your FestiDan tickets during the pre-sale, for a $25 donation you get to attend the block party and get free beer. If you wait to get a ticket the day of you’ll have to fork over 30 bucks. Either way all money raised will benefit the ALS Foundation and the Arts & Minds High School, which is located in the Grove.
