When we first told you about Nabedi Osorio and Steph Taylor who make up The State Of last year we were excited to see where a female duo could take Miami music. Sadly, after five years together we’ll be bidding our farewells to half of the group, as drummer Nabedi Osorio looks for her next great adventure on the other coast. It seems Miami is losing many talents to Los Angele
s from Smut + Bass’ Dave Betamax to our colorful purveyors of happiness FriendsWithYou. And while we try to stifle our bitter resentment we’ll send them off with a bang. It’s the Miami way.
Nabedi’s send-off celebration will take place at The Stage where you’ll probably run into a slew of local musician either performing or making lists of reasons Miami is awesome. However you paint it on Sunday, June 3rd for the jam endearingly entitled Nabedipalooza will be The State Of’s last appearance in Miami until who knows when.
Nabedi describes the event as:
Nabedipalooza is a celebration of love and music and a culmination of all my past and present experiences in Miami.
Be there for performances by:
With music by Heather Holiday and phAxas. The State Of will headline with a “so long for now” performance (you can expect to hear a new album from them in the coming year).
