He even looks veterans!
Rick Rubin is one of the outstanding names in the history of popular music. He began his journey as the original DJ of the Beastie Boys and Russell Simmons. He’s been the one to popularize a mix between rap music and metal music. In his career, he’s been one to work with many notable bands that have changed the face of music for the coming decades. MTV has called him the most important producer of the last 20 years and was also listed in the Top 100 Most Influential People In The World by Time Magazine.
I show tribute to one of the greatest producer of all time but just by what he’s been listed in for other magazines or other national titles on magazines, but I give him my personal choice award.
One of the most interesting things about producers is how they gave that extra shazam to a lot of band’s compositions and songwriting. Many people overlook the job of a producer, but to give a short and direct answer to the important role of a producer is one that can easily be underrated. The job of a producer is to get a song that’s written and composed by an artist and give it a high sonic make up and make it sound more interesting without actually changing the composition itself, unless of course it’s necessary.

Rick Rubin With Jay-Z
Rick Rubin has been in the game for about 20 years and has about over 50 albums produced per decade beginning in the 1990s and the 2000s. These aren’t just albums he produced successfully but more like huge bands with their huge comebacks also. Below I have listed per decade, some of my favorite albums or albums that I love produced by him.

1980s
Licensed to Ill – Beastie Boys
Raising Hell – Run-DMC
Reign in Blood – Slayer
South of Heaven – Slayer
1990s
Blood Sugar Sex Magik – Red Hot Chili Peppers
One Hot Minute – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Empty – God Lives Underwater
Californication – Red Hot Chili Peppers
2000s
Renegades – Rage Against the Machine
Amethyst Rock Star – Saul Williams
By the Way – Red Hot Chili Peppers
De-Loused in the Comatorium – The Mars Volta (with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez)
The Black Album – Jay-Z (“99 Problems”)
Weezer – Weezer
Maybe this list might not prove much by my own personal taste but overall, Rick Rubin holds 7 Grammy Awards from his entire discography. The background behind this amazing producer is one of many paths and very much success. Tomorrow I will be posting that background about Rick Rubin, so stay tuned.
