Yes, I Party!

Category: Events|Music   Posted by:   on March 16th, 2010

In order for the Miami music scene to evolve (and cease being something locals complain about) the first order of business is to SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC. See a local show. Buy a new artist CD. Miami is overflowing with undiscovered talent and there are a few gems left out there. The beat on the street is strong and soulful, but often goes unheard.

Your chance for change comes in the form of Do You Party?, the single release celebration for Afrobeta. Cuci (coo-SEE) and Smurphio will be unveiling their single at 7th Circuit Studios on Friday March 19th, so get those tickets ASAP. Don’t forget your funky dance moves, because the walls can hold themselves up.

Not only is local music an important foundation for the Miami music scene, but local music also allows people to come together with their own artistic aspiration or great appreciation of such talents. Afrobeta may not exist had it not been for their random rendezvous at a Suenalo concert. (Suenalo being a local music post all its own…) The songwriting, beat making and soul shattering have been continuous ever since. And thank goodness for that!

If you’ve never experienced an Afrobeta show get on it before they hit ULTRA later this month and let everyone in on their secret. Act like you know.
