Mosey on down to the Brickell area, centered at SZE Brickell (1421 Miami Ave.) on July 11th at noon, get yourself settled with your beer in one hand and vuvuzuela in the other… better yet just double fist the beers and be set for game time at 2:30pm.

For the event, Mayor Tomas Regalado announced that the Financial District Metromover Station will be renamed “World Cup Station”.  Save on gas and parking then reallocate those funds to adult bevies!

Pregame, halftime and post game entertainment is on the agenda. Plus local leaders and celebrities are scheduled to make brief appearance. But the true gem of the event will be the large LED screen available for fans to watch the final match between Netherlands and Spain. My money is on the octopick!

Make sure to come out and show your support, because Miami could potentially host a final match if the US successfully wins the bid for the World Cup 2018 or 2022. Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, who is chairman of the Miami Host City Bid Committee, hopes the event will showcase our a strong soccer fan base. Miami is one of the 18 US cities named in the 1,250-page bid submitted in Zurich, Switzerland. Sun Life Stadium would be the site for any soccer matches played in South Florida should we win the bid to host the World Cup.

Make sure to vote online for the US bid for World Cup 2018 and 2022.
